What does it mean to be a woman and to experience Skid Row?

Rock, Paper, Scissors was performed as a continuous work-in-progress based on writing generated in the Game Girls workshops and inspired by Sylvia Plath’s Poem, "Mirror" and Rainer Maria Rilke’s poem, "Dove that Ventured Outside".

The women explore themes of desire, recovery and the fluidity of identity and transform them into a tapestry of dreams. As they dialogue with handmade masks, they allow the audience a very intimate glimpse into their inner lives: their past, present and future.

Rock Paper Scissors was directed by then President of the SoCal chapter of the Drama Therapy Association, Mimi Savage, PhD, RDT-BCT. It has been developed alongside a documentary production, titled Game Girls, directed by Alina Skrzeszewska and produced by Films de Force Majeure, Blinker Films and Kelly Parker. Performers are Chella Coleman, Lanita Fields, Silvia Hernandez, Maati Avset (aka W), Marilyn Irizarry, Amiyoko Shabazz, Jen Wilson (aka Between Names), and Ilona Varga
